Practice News from the team at Heriot Hughes – February 2010

Towards the end of 2009 we carried out a large scale marketing campaign to businesses in the North West from which we had an excellent response. As a result of this we are delighted to announce that we have now taken on two new members of staff to assist with our ever increasing workload.

Chris Graham is an experienced accountant who is an affiliate of the ACCA. He comes to us from a firm in South Liverpool and specialises in taxation and accounts production. Suzanne Walsh is working towards completing her Association of Accounting Technicians qualification in the summer of 2010. They are both proving to be welcome additions to our team.

Over the last year we have invested a great deal of time and money developing our electronic communications systems. This has meant that the postal strikes and recent adverse weather conditions have left us relatively unscathed as almost all communication with clients is now done by email. Our reduced paper consumption is also helping us to achieve our Green Goals, as well as helping us to cut down on our time spent filing which is a relief to all members of the Practice!

As well as communicating by email and submitting tax returns online, we are also able to scan in all working papers e.g. invoices and bank statements, which can be referred to at a later date. If you wish, we can send you copies of these as a back up in case anything ever happens to your hard copies. If you are not yet receiving emails from us and would prefer for all future communication to be in an electronic format, then please send your email address to info@heriothughes.co.uk and we will update your details on our records.
